Box Beam Cherry Mantel

This fireplace needed a mantel but the home is entirely modern and a big clunky mantel wouldn’t do.

The homeowners have plenty of cherry furniture and we kept that in mind while creating this.

They didn’t want it very deep, or to extend too far out into the space. They also wanted something striking but simple. Thats what they got.

We use just a simple box-beam approach and wrapped it around the corner. To give movement to an otherwise clean line, we used some heavily curly cherry to bring attention to the grain.
